Introduction

Frozen in fear, I gasped for air, unable to defend myself. Hands grasped around my neck squeezing savagely. Pain emanated throughout my fragile body. I tried to speak, to shout, “Help me.  Don’t kill me.”

I am not going to die. Fighting for my life, I clenched both hands into fists, and began beating against the unknown dark force. I thrashed back and forth, as my eyes bulged from the threatening attack. Terror had taken over, as I tried to scream, I could not. I felt the executioner’s hot breath and sweat against my naked body. The rough hands tightened even more ferociously. My life was ending.

My inborn fight for survival renewed my strength. I fought desperately to protect myself. I grabbed the perpetrator’s hands, pushing them away, as hard as I could. It was useless; I just didn’t have the strength to fight anymore. It was the end.

Suddenly, the assault stopped as quickly as it had begun.  My stinging eyes blinked franticly searching for the assailant.

Then I saw a shadowy form lurking in the early morning light. There stood an ominous form; white from the head down, but the face was a dark, black mask.

A taunting voice mixed with a sinister laugh spoke, “You will suffer a gruesome death. Death to you and to the one you love. This will happen when you least expect it. You will die.”

 “Who’s there?” I cried out.

Then the shadowy figure disappeared. Was the attack real?  Was I going crazy?
Powerless, I could not move, caught half in a dream state of sub-consciousness, and terror. Dripping in sweat, my body shook uncontrollably. Silence, panic, and fear penetrated my soul.

Brotherhood, "Who are the Least of These?) Original Acrylic Painting For Sale

Brotherhood Who are the Least of These? by Renne’ Siewers   Brotherhood depicts the differences in mankind by the positioning of hands.   If you watch a person’s body, you can surmise what emotion a person feels inside.   The indigenous people of all nations were preyed upon and murdered, starved by invaders who took away their livelihood.   This native individual is praying for forgiveness for mankind and their own forgiveness for all who sinned against the innocent.   These people forgave their enemies just like Jesus forgave those who did the same to him. Jesus has his hands clenched, exasperated by mankind's behavior, to find who will serve mankind to lead the brotherhood from hunger, poverty, sickness, and imprisonment.   With his hands turned toward his body, the Manchurian states that he is not open to anyone or anything.   He feels he is superior to everyone in his skills and does not believe in Jesus. The Manchu...

“Eyes of a Mother” War and Peace Renne’ Siewers Looking through the Eyes of a Mother is the maternal window protecting a child during life and death.   So helpless is a child against war.   The mother is responsible for her child’s protection during this duress.   Depicted in the Eyes of a Mother’s portrait are the loud military explosions bursting in their ears from the nearby war; she finds a way to make her child content and safe. The Mother cries out, “God protect my child from the ominous war.” Mary of Nazareth fled with Joseph on a donkey to save her unborn child from certain death at the hands of the soldiers.   King Herod (Herod the Great) ordered the first newborn male child under the age of two to be killed at the hands of his soldiers.   King Herod heard rumors that a born king, or savior, would be extremely powerful among the Jewish people.   The second reason Herod was troubled was that he didn’t want Christ to come to...
