I fell in love with a statue of Mary and Jesus when I was in Europe. The statue was silver, and the lighting upon the statue was magnificent. I was drawn to the statue and took a photograph. When I returned from the States, I was moved to paint the image of Mary introducing Jesus to all mankind as the savior to man. Jesus is in man's image. He taught humankind about his father and how to be saved as he grew. Jesus continued to show his faith in God and that believing in God would provide harmony and peace for all humankind. I believe Mary is holding Jesus out so everyone knows Christ was born as predicted in the Old Testament. 

 

Matthew 1:21: "Call his name Jesus: for he shall save his people from their sins."
