Renne’ Siewers
‘Captivity'
Enclosed in a torrent of confusion, the mermaid is swallowed by the seas, crushed by the water's weight, prey to enemies depicted as shark, praying to be released. The wave encircles the body; life is complex with its ups and downs. Only one day at a time, I answer prayers to God. The body is a temple, and may God provide healing in prayers. You are not a captive in your own captivity, but are God’s child being groomed for eternity in Heaven. Light is at the end of life to take you home.
Psalm 42
I say to God my Rock,
“Why have You forgotten me?
Why must I walk in sorrow
because of the enemy’s oppression?”
10Like the crushing of my bones,
my enemies taunt me,
while they say to me all day long,
“Where is your God?”
11Why are you downcast, O my soul?
Why the unease within me?
Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise Him,
my Savior and my God.
